Every store that I go to I see parents piling up school supplies for the new school year. It is the most stressful time of the year because you not only have to buy the supplies but buy the initial outfits that the kids will be excited to go and show off to their friends. Not only can it be expensive but nerve-wrecking. But, as long as you do the homework and get some back to school outfit ideas before you go shopping then it should not be too much of a headache.
It is like building a new wardrobe that will last all through the year. Getting styles that are timeless is a great way to start the wardrobe and then adding some special pieces to the mix can go a long way.
The boyfriend jacket
This is always a classic piece to have and can be dressed up or down. It’s a great little blazer to carry around when it starts getting a little nippy. The jacket goes really well with jeans for a casual look and ballet flats. But, don’t let style dictate that because you can always wear it with boots and add a different look to it.
Invest at least on one pair of shoes that can be versatile but at the same time different from the rest of your shoes is super important. I found this great pair of sandals that were completely comfortable and stylish to wear with many different outfits. Many parents forget to buy shoes because they are so focused on getting actual outfits but footwear is just as important.
Button up print top
Button up shirts are always nice and comfortable at the same time. If you pair it with jeans and ballet flats, you can look effortlessly stylish.
As long as you have a great jacket and shoes, you can wear it with a cute top and look fabolous. There are bohemian looks that can be paired with gladiator shoes and make it look like it’s a completely new outfit.
I encourage the parents to do some research before going shopping. At the same time, listen to what your child feels most comfortable with. Don’t just choose outfits that she or he won’t like. Have fun shopping!
