Is it possible to get rid of stretch marks? After giving birth to my second baby, it has taken me forever to eliminate these stretch marks. I decided to dig in and research to see how to get rid of stretch marks and hopefully help others as well.
Stretch marks are caused when the skin changes its shape way too fast by losing weight too fast. Because of the weight loss, there is a rupture in the skin and you are left with some scars under your skin. How to get rid of stretch marks? The faster you treat the stretch marks, the better chance you have to get rid of them. However, there are so many options nowadays that if the topical treatments do not work then I will go with other options.
Here is what I have tried personally. I alternate days with these two treatments but the moisturizer I use every day.
- Wheat Germ Oil: It is a bit oily but if you wait for it to dry then it is not so bad to apply to the skin. I have seen a change within two weeks of applying it directly to the stretch marks. I also massage the area in circular motion.
- Zenmed Stretta Remove stretch marks: It is a bit pricy than what I usually like to pay for a lotion but I saw a difference within two weeks as well. On top of this lotion, I also like to use a firming moisturizing lotion.
- Nivea Body skin Firming moisturizer: After giving birth, my skin became extremely flabby. This moisturizer helped firm up the skin along with exercise. Your skin will not magically get firm if you do not include exercise to your regimen.
Everyone is different so please keep in mind that what may work for me, may not work for you. But, if you don’t try something new then you won’t know if you could get rid of these stretch marks. I will keep you posted as I continue trying new treatments on my skin.
