I can’t lie but I had a writer’s block and I could not find anything to really write about on my next post. By accident, I was just going through some old pictures and I came across my son’s baby shower. He was my first-born so it was a really exciting time. My family threw the baby shower for me but I can say that I helped my sister put together some of these cute little ideas for my own shower. I was so excited to be involved somehow but I just didn’t know when it was going to happen. She did surprise me though because I thought it was another weekend but it wasn’t; I will never forget this shower.
It did not cost a lot of money at all to put some of these things together and I can tell you that it was a hit. For example, the frames I bought from a store and I just printed the saying. The frame was the little favor that everyone got to keep; pretty simple and easy to do.
For the cake topper, my sister saw this little sail boat at a craft store and so we decided it would be a great idea to add it as a cake topper. So, my sister asked my brother-in-law to paint the wooden little sailboat and voila! It was pretty easy and fun to do and it was the cutest little accent to the cake. In my opinion, it really made it different and unique.
Last but not least, how could you not have a little sail in a bottle as little table decorations? This is another cute idea to have in a shower. I can’t emphasize how easy it is to do and inexpensive. Just visit any Michaels’ or local craft stores to help you make these little creations. You can also add your personality to this favor by monogramming it. That was an idea I had at that time, but I just did not have the means to do it.
Have fun with these ideas and let me know if you do use them! I would love to see how you make this your own!
