After losing so much hair throughout my pregnancy, I decided it was time to look for tips to stop all my hair from falling out.  There are so many reasons why you can start losing your hair whether it’s because of your genetics, hormones, recently experienced a trauma or pregnancy.  It could be you have too much or too little thyroid, or low estrogen; for whatever the reason, it must be a life changing moment.  When I was pregnant with my first, I lost so much hair that it looked like I had Androgenetic Alopecia.  It was really frustrating for me because I could see big chunks of hair falling off every time I brushed my hair.  For some women, it may not show as quickly but you could see the change over a course of weeks, months or days.

My first recommendation is to find out why you may be losing your hair.  If you are looking for a quick fix that’s available over the counter then Rogaine is your product.  There are no magic potions right now that completely stop hair loss, but there are options to help you.  Here are a few tips to stop hair loss and thinning hair:

  1. Hot oil treatments: Take any natural oil- olive oil, coconut oil, or any oil treatments that can be warmed up and applied to your hair.  Massage the treatment in your hair and leave it for at least an hour.  Make sure to shampoo your hair so that it doesn’t stay greasy.
  2. Natural juice: you can massage your head with natural juices.  There are juices like garlic, onion, ginger or aloe.  Leave it on overnight and wash it the next day.
  3. Massage your head at least twice a week.  This helps stimulate your circulation and keeps your hair follicles active.
  4. Laser treatment is one way to re-grow your hair.  This method stimulates your cell metabolism and leads to hair growth.

Never take your hair for granted.  Get an early start on making healthier eating choices, conditioning your hair and massage your scalp.

Here are a few of my recommendations of products that have worked.  It’s all about consistency and persistence.  I would love to hear your feedback so please stop by and tell me if it worked for you.
